The Flint Hills Association of REALTORS® is partnering with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) to provide financial assistance to those who were displaced by the tornado that hit Westmoreland on April 30, 2024.

Homeowners and renters may apply for up to $1,500 in mortgage or rental assistance, or hotel reimbursement. Monies, if granted, will be made payable to the homeowner or home renter.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Applications must be received by July 3rd, 2024 to be considered, regardless of the postmark date.

 

Who is eligible to receive these funds?

Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following options:

1) Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the Tornado Disaster

2) Rental cost due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the Tornado Disaster

3) Hotel reimbursement due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the Tornado Disaster

Recipients must be a full-time resident and U.S. citizen or legally admitted for residence in the United States.

 

What is the application deadline?

The deadline was extended and applications must now be received by July 3rd, 2024, to be considered, regardless of the postmark date.

 

How will qualified recipients receive the funds?

Funds will be dispersed via check and The Flint Hills Association of REALTORS® will arrange delivery or pickup of the check with qualified applicants.

 

What documentation is required for the application?

Applicants will be required to supply the following:

  • Photo identification to show proof of residency (i.e. driver’s license or other governmental documentation evidencing residency)
  • Copy of mortgage statement, rent statement, lease agreement or hotel receipt

One of the following is required to show proof of damage to the primary residence:

  • Photos of damages
  • Insurance estimate
  • Copies of written claims, settlement proceed or claim status reports
  • Copies of repair estimates from contractors

 

Who is providing these funds?

The Flint Hills Association of REALTORS® (FHAR) has partnered with The REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) to provide these funds.

RRF provides housing-related assistance to disaster-impacted communities through the generosity of REALTORS®, state and local associations, and industry partners. 100% of all dollars donated go directly to victims of disasters. The National Association of REALTORS® covers 100% of administrative expenses.
